CRAZY Day in Escrow!

What a day!  I had my property inspection this morning (Thank you Matthew for coming with me!), and that lasted about 3-1/2 hours!!  Boy, talk about information overload when the guy got done going over the (26-page!!!) inspection report.  The cool thing is that my agent said he is the pickiest inspector she knows, and he certainly did find things, but I am happy to report that the things he found were very minor...he didn't really find anything major, other than the water pressure registered at 121 psi (and the acceptable range is 30-80 psi!!).

As the inspection was happening, I was getting text messages and emails from my mortgage broker about a (small) laundry list of things she needed from me TODAY...so I rushed home after the inspection and downloaded all the statements they needed. Then I printed out a 35-page document that is my loan application that needs to be signed, and here I am getting ready to scan it and email it so that my loan file is complete...where it will sit in line for 8-10 days awaiting approval. (I might just take up nail-biting as a new habit in the next 8-10 days.)

I started panicking when I noticed that this paperwork wants to know who my homeowner's insurance company is going to be...until I was reassured that I am not expected to have that info quite yet. Phew! Nonetheless, I've added "shop for homeowner's insurance" to my growing list of things to do.

Needless to say, today I have felt completely overwhelmed, and even scared, but I'm working with awesome people who are literally holding my hand through this whole thing.  My heart rate may be a little fast right now, but I believe that I am in God's hands and He is orchestrating this whole thing.

It was really nice to be able to see the house again and really take a good look at it, and to spend some time in the beautiful backyard (where we even prayed!). Oh, and we noticed that the current owner has a Bible (and Max Lucado book) next to her bed and little crosses around the house - yay! It's nice to know that I'm buying from a fellow Christian!

I'll try to post some pictures later...for now I've gotta run so I can scan these documents and then go watch MNF with Heather and Brandon! :)
